MINEOLA, N.Y., April 22, 2008 – Now Long Islanders have a new, convenient way to get trained in lifesaving skills such as CPR and first aid – Online. The American Red Cross in Nassau County has partnered with the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis to offer Red Cross online training.

Recently, while visiting Schwarting Elementary School in Massapequa, I was reminded of just how valuable our children are and that we can learn a few things from them.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., April 7, 2008 -- This spring, Marine Reservists attached to 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, will be activated for deployment to Iraq. To help prepare the Marines and their families, an information brief was held at Nassau Community College, April 6. Nearly 400 people attended the event which had speakers from various agencies that provide support to servicemembers--including the American Red Cross in Nassau County.
