BELLMORE, N.Y., July 24, 2008 -- Despite a driving rain, nearly 120 young swimmers dove into Newbridge Park Pool today to raise over $8,600 for the American Red Cross in Nassau County at the 3rd Annual Town of Hempstead Swim-A-Cross.

PLAINVIEW, N.Y., July 9, 2008 - Tragically, fire ripped through a Winters Court home this morning, taking the life of an elderly male. Volunteers from the American Red Cross in Nassau County provided assistance to his widow, who was not home during the blaze.
