Nassau Red Cross Responds to Fire in Old Bethpage

OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y., Aug. 25, 2008 -- Fire damaged a Beatrice Lane home this evening and volunteers from the American Red Cross in Nassau County provided relief to those who were displaced.

Three adults lived in the home. The Nassau Red Cross provided them with temporary shelter in a nearby motel and funds for food, clothing and medications. According to Linda Cohn, Red Cross volunteer, relief totaled $1,225.

All Red Cross disaster assistance is provided at no cost to those affected, thanks to the generosity of individuals who dontate their time or money to the nonprofit agency.
