By admin @ 10:30 PM :: 960 Views :: 0 Comments :: Nassau County News, Press Releases

MINEOLA, N.Y., SEPT. 5, 2008 -- Tropical Storm Hanna is expected to bring several inches of rain and possible wind gusts to Long Island Saturday. The Nassau Red Cross urges residents to exercise caution until the storm has passed.

Before the storm's arrival, secure outdoor furniture, toys, etc., to prevent them from becoming dangerous projectiles. Stay tuned to local media for updates and heed all warnings.

During the storm, remain inside if possible. Do not drive on flooded roadways and bring helpful items like bottled water, snacks, a flashlight, booster cables and a cell phone with you in case your vehicle becomes disabled.
