HICKSVILLE, N.Y., July 8, 2009 -- Nassau Red Cross volunteers are providing assistance to family and friends affected by a fire on Acre Lane that took the life of one resident and displaced four others.
In addition to grief counseling, the Red Cross is providing temporary lodging and funds for food and clothing.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is provided at no cost those affected. Long Islanders can help the Nassau Red Cross respond to local disasters, like this tragic fire, by becoming a volunteer or through donations.
