Fire in Levittown, Red Cross Responds

LEVITTOWN, N.Y., Aug. 15, 2009 -- Fire ripped through a Clay Lane home yesterday and volunteers from the American Red Cross in Nassau County responded to provide relief.

Four adults were displaced by the blaze. They were provided temporary shelter in a nearby motel, along with funds for food and clothing, said Larry Plavin, Red Cross volunteer.

All Red Cross disaster assistance is provided at no cost to those affected, thanks to the generosity of individuals who donate their time and money to the nonprofit agency.
