MINEOLA, N.Y., June 25, 2010 -- Children wait all year for summer to arrive, but just ask any parent and they'll tell you that it doesn't take long for boredom to set in. The American Red Cross in Nassau County can help! On July 23rd and 30th, the Nassau Red Cross will hold a Babysitter’s Training Course at the Freeport Recreation Center, from 6 to 9:30 both nights.
Designed for 11-15 year olds, the course covers:

Interviewing for a babysitting job.

Choosing safe and age-appropriate toys and games.

First Aid. Diapering and feeding techniques.

Tips for a safe babysitting experience.

Handling bedtime issues.

Writing a resume and marketing oneself safely.
The course is $35 and includes materials. The Freeport Recreation Center is conveniently located one-mile from the Meadowbrook Parkway at 130 E. Merrick Road in Freeport.
